Based on the Vertigo comic book series by Ollie Masters and Ming Doyle, The Kitchen revolves around three mob wives in the 1970s who take over the family business after their husbands are arrested by the FBI. The film marks Andrea Berloff’s directorial debut and stars Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish and Elisabeth Moss.

Here is the official synopsis for The Kitchen:
Based on the Vertigo comic book series from DC Entertainment, the film stars Oscar nominee Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish and Elisabeth Moss as three 1978 Hell’s Kitchen housewives whose mobster husbands are sent to prison by the FBI. Left with little but a sharp ax to grind, the ladies take the Irish mafia’s matters into their own hands—proving unexpectedly adept at everything from running the rackets to taking out the competition…literally.
Written and directed by Andrea Berloff, The Kitchen also stars Common, Domhnall Gleeson, Margo Martindale, Bill Camp, Alicia Coppola, Brian d’Arcy James, James Badge Dale, Jeremy Bobb, and James Ciccone.
