Fans of The Last of Us know that the show’s second season is set to explore some morally grey territory. However, it seems Bella Ramsey wants to get darker, expressing an interest in playing a villain like the iconic Joker.
Bella Ramsey made a splash in the pop culture scene with their role as Ellie in The Last of Us. However, it seems they’re not done exploring the complexities of morality. In a recent interview, the actor revealed their desire to play a morally complex villain like the Joker:
“I’ve not really played a villain yet. So I want to play a baddy. But like a really interesting, intricate, complex baddy,” Ramsey told LADBible. “Yeah. I was actually thinking that as well. The Joker, someone really interesting like that.”
There’s no shortage of Joker variants for The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey to play. Perhaps the most fitting would be Marian Drews, the “Neo Joker” from Batman: White Knight that serves as the variant most closely matching Ramsey’s age. Given the DC Universe is about the reboot the franchise with Batman: The Brave and The Bold, it would certainly be an interesting spin on the Joker to have in the new continuity!
