This version of Sauron is played by Charlie Vickers. The actor played Halbrand in the first season of The Lords of the Rings: The Rings of Power. However, it quickly became clear to fans that something more was hiding beneath the surface. Toward the end of the season, it was revealed that Halbrand was a false identity created by Sauron, setting the character up for a main role in season 2.

Charlie Vickers isn’t the only actor set to return for The Rings of Power season 2. Set photos suggest that Isildur will also make his return to the project. The character stands as an important character in The Lord of The Rings alongside Sauron, with his demise leading to Smeagol discovering the ring.
Despite its lackluster first season, it’s also not likely The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of power will be leaving TV screens anytime soon. Amazon has already committed to a five-season plan for the show, meaning season 2 isn’t even at the halfway point of the series.
