Previously, the culture of Mandalore was explored in the era of the Star Wars prequel trilogy with the introduction of characters such as Jango Fett, the single parent of his clone Boba Fett. The culture of Mandalore is also explored in the animated shows Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, the latter of which included the Mandalorian character Sabine Wren.
Although Pedro Pascal is set to play the titular character of The Mandalorian, it wouldn’t be surprising if Jon Favreau’s series explores the Mandalorian culture beyond its titular antihero.
Are you excited to see more of the Mandalorian culture explored in live-action form in the upcoming Star Wars series? Sound off in the comments below, and be sure to continue following Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news in the Star Wars universe.
After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog, and Nick Nolte. The Disney+ series was written by Jon Favreau, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist is also on board as a co-executive producer.
Dave Filoni will direct the first episode of the Star Wars series and additional episodes will be helmed by Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi, Jurassic World star Bryce Dallas Howard, Dope director Rick Famuyiwa, and Jessica Jones director Deborah Chow.
The Mandalorian will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on November 12, 2019.
