Katee Sackhoff took center stage as Bo-Katan in this last season of The Mandalorian. This left fans with one question on their mind: could Din Djarin be replaced as the eponymous hero of the Star Wars Disney Plus series?
Many fans have grown wary of the fate of The Mandalorian in the new Star Wars landscape. With Bo-Katan’s introduction and an increase in scope, Star Wars fans worry the Disney Plus series may be losing its magic, even going so far as to say Din Djarin will be replaced as the show’s lead. However, according to Bo-Katan actress Katee Sackhoff, fans have nothing to worry about.
“No. I think there’s always going to be a lot of speculation in this fandom. You know, I think it’s one of the reasons why people love this fandom so much. And they love this universe so much that a lot of times it allows just enough ambiguity for people to interpret things the way that they want to interpret them. And out of that there is the ability to have a lot of misinformation get out, or just, you know, wishful thinking.”
“And I think in this situation, I think that the story of the Mandalorians and the story of Bo-Katan needed to be told, I don’t believe in any way that it was taking away from Din [Djarin’s] story, nor was that ever the intention. And you know, Pedro and I aren’t in charge of who gets to lead the show [laughs]. This is Din Djarin’s show, it will always be Din Djarin’s show.”
It’s certainly a relief to hear that, no matter how stuffed the cast gets for The Mandalorian, the Disney Plus show will always belong to Din Djarin. Hopefully, the Star Wars series is able to recover from a slightly bumpy third season to deliver something truly great, be it with or without Katee Sackhoff as the stellar Bo-Katan.
