Disney Plus’ The Mandalorian is the most in-demand new series from across the new wave of streaming services, according to a new report.
According to a new report from says out of all the new streaming services that audiences have signed up to in the last year or so, Disney Plus’ The Mandalorian is the most in-demand series out of the hundreds of shows subscribers have to choose from. The Mandalorian star Giancarlo Esposito recently opened up about the upcoming second season, teasing the Darksaber’s importance going forward. The new report from Parrot Analytics praised the Star Wars series and how it drew audiences in during its debut.
The Hollywood Reporter recently focused on the new Parrot Analytics report, which saw the director of applied analytics at the company praise the Disney Plus series. Alejandro Rojas briefly explained “The Mandalorian is in a class of its own.” Audience demand for the show was 55 times higher than the average series available during the week of Disney Plus’ debut. Clearly that attention was well deserved, since the show recently landed an Emmy nomination for Best Drama series. Rojas also explained that the report was about looking at audiences and seeing what instantly captured their interest.
“It goes beyond viewership and the traditional way of looking at the industry. It’s all about capturing people’s interest and connecting emotionally with the people so they see that show as part of their life.”

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog, and Nick Nolte. The Star Wars series was written by Jon Favreau, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist is also on board as a co-executive producer.
Dave Filoni directed the first episode of The Mandalorian and additional episodes of the Star Wars series were helmed by Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi, Jurassic World star Bryce Dallas Howard, Dope director Rick Famuyiwa, and Jessica Jones director Deborah Chow.
