The Punisher is getting down and dirty! The latest set video shows that Jon Bernthal is bringing some absolutely brutal action to his Disney Plus special.
Fans were ecstatic when it was revealed that The Punisher would be getting his own special presentation on Disney Plus. While Jon Bernthal’s character often struggled to carry his own series, he has proven time and time again to be absolutely joyful in small doses. Getting a 45 minute action-packed spectacle may be the perfect formula for the beloved anti-hero.
And it seems Marvel isn’t holding back just because its a special presentation. The latest set video shows Jon Bernthal absolutely killing it (pun intended) as The Punisher. While the scenes don’t push the upcoming Disney Plus project to an R-rating, they show that the actor hasn’t lost his step as the black fist of justice, still able to pull off some absolutely insane action sequences.

The Punisher’s Story On Disney Plus
Given where fans last saw The Punisher, it’s likely the special presentation will focus on Jon Bernthal’s anti-hero breaking out of Kingpin’s compound and being hunted down by enemies of his past. This would allow him to progress his own story without becoming required reading for fans of other projects on Disney Plus like Daredevil: Born Again.
While there’s been no official rating given to the special presentation, it’s likely that Marvel will make it one of their limited “Rated R” projects on Disney Plus. This, not only due to The Punisher’s often bloody methods, but to further contrast it to Spider-Man: Brand New Day, a project which Jon Bernthal will be appearing in later that year.
