Margot Robbie revealed that she’s ready to return as Harley Quinn in an interview to promote The Suicide Squad.

It’s hard to believe it but Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn is one of the few characters who has had the most consistent of appearances in the DC Extended Universe. After debuting in Suicide Squad, Quinn headlined her own adventure in Birds of Prey, and is now set to join the ensemble of James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. Seeing as Robbie is an acclaimed actress outside of the DCEU, fans have been hypothesizing that the actor needs a break from playing the criminally insane Quinn. Robbie, on the other hand, is eager to return to the role.

In a chat with Entertainment Tonight, Margot Robbie opened up about wanting to already return to the role of Joker’s ex.

“No, I’ve had enough of a break. I’m ready to do her again. I did Birds of Prey and The Suicide Squad back-to-back, so that was a lot of Harley all in a one year period, but that was a while ago now. I’m always ready for more Harley!”

It’s unclear what the future holds for Harley Quinn over at DC, but all signs point to a Gotham City Sirens film that unites her with her Birds of Prey castmates. Of course, Quinn could also appear in a The Suicide Squad sequel – that is if she makes it out alive by the end of it. Should James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad prove to be a financial success, it’s easy to anticipate a sequel focusing on the film’s survivors.

Here is the synopsis for James Gunn’s upcoming film:

Welcome to hell—a.k.a. Belle Reve, the prison with the highest mortality rate in the US of A. Where the worst Super-Villains are kept and where they will do anything to get out—even join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X. Today’s do-or-die assignment? Assemble a collection of cons, including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin and everyone’s favorite psycho, Harley Quinn. Then arm them heavily and drop them (literally) on the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese. Trekking through a jungle teeming with militant adversaries and guerrilla forces at every turn, the Squad is on a search-and-destroy mission, with only Colonel Rick Flag on the ground to make them behave…and Amanda Waller’s government techies in their ears, tracking their every movement. And as always, one wrong move and they’re dead (whether at the hands of their opponents, a teammate, or Waller herself). If anyone’s laying down bets, the smart money is against them—all of them.

Written and directed by James Gunn, The Suicide Squad stars David Dastmalchian, John Cena, Jai Courtney, Joaquín Cosío, Nathan Fillion, Joel Kinnaman, Mayling Ng, Flula Borg, Sean Gunn, Juan Diego Botto, Storm Reid, Pete Davidson, Taika Waititi, Alice Braga, Steve Agee, Tinashe Kajese, Daniela Melchior, Peter Capaldi, Julio Ruiz, Jennifer Holland, Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Margot Robbie, and Michael Rooker.
