The upcoming Marvel film, Thor: Love And Thunder recruited Spider-Man: No Way Home composer Michael Giacchino to score the movie.
The Thor franchise has become one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most enduring solo film franchises. Whereas both Robert Downy Jr’s Iron Man and Chris Evans’ Captain America ended things on their third film, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor shows no signs of slowing down. The fourth film was officially announced at 2019’s San Diego Comic-Con and the actor has stated that he is willing to keep playing the role as long as they will have him. But now, the new Marvel film is adding a new member to its roster.
Earlier today, The Batman composer Michael Giacchino confirmed that he would be doing the music for Thor: Love And Thunder. The composer has a long history in the industry and has scored several Marvel films in the past including Doctor Strange and the Tom Holland Spider-Man films. You can see his full announcement below:
Full details on the plot for the film are currently being kept under lock and key. The Marvel Studios film is said to be partly based on Jason Aaron’s Mighty Thor comic book run, with Jane Foster becoming the new Thor. Christian Bale is reportedly portraying the film’s main antagonist who is rumored to be another Jason Aaron character, Gorr The God Butcher.
Directed by Taika Waititi from a script he co-wrote with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, Christian Bale, Jaimie Alexander, Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, and Jeff Goldblum. Matt Damon, Sam Neill, Luke Hemsworth, Melissa McCarthy, Ben Falcone, and Russell Crowe are also on board.
Thor: Love and Thunder is set to be released on July 8, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming Marvel film and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
