New ‘Love And Thunder’ Promo Art Showcases Miek, Korg’s Mustache & Worthy Thor

"I'm still worthy!"

Thor Love and Thunder Trailer Chris Hemsworth Taika Waititi

A new series of promotional images for Thor: Love and Thunder have surfaced online, showing Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and other heroes, including dashing new looks for Miek and Korg.

Following the events of Thor: Ragnarok and the last two Avengers movies, Thor: Love and Thunder is about to shake things up for the God of Thunder, who was last seen jetting off into space with the Guardians of the Galaxy. Chris Hemsworth’s Thor might have lost his hammer, but he has a whole new host of allies at his side. Also joining the fray in Love and Thunder is the Mighty Thor, the heroic alter ego of Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster, granted Asgardian powers by a restored Mjolnir.

New promo art showcases some of Thor’s new allies and also reveals an interesting detail about Chris Hemsworth’s Thor Odinson himself. On display in the new images are Miek, one of the aliens Thor encountered in the Grandmaster’s Contest of Champions in Ragnarok, and Taika Waititi’s Korg, the friendly rock-skinned champion also encountered in Ragnarok. Check out the new art below:

Miek is sporting a dashing new suit and showing off her knife hands in the promo art. Korg also sports a distinguished new look in the form of a mustache that appears to be drawn onto his rocky upper lip.

Interestingly, one image showing film’s the two Thors labels Natalie Portman’s “Mighty,” but Chris Hemsworth’s “worthy.” In the comic book storyline that saw Jane Foster become Thor, she was only able to wield Mjolnir after the original Thor had been dubbed unworthy. The art implies the same will not be true in the MCU, possibly a decision that was made after Thor proving his worthiness became a key moment in his character arc in Avengers: Endgame.

Here is the synopsis for Thor: Love and Thunder:

The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.

Directed by Taika Waititi and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, the film stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Pom Klementieff, Sean Gunn, and Russell Crowe.
