It seems not everyone is making an appearance in Avengers: Doomsday! Three major stars from past MCU projects confirm that they won’t be making a return.
Avengers: Doomsday is shaping up to be one of the biggest projects, not just in the MCU, but in cinematic history. However, the question of who will make their return has already been beaten to death and back. The real interesting question is which actors have a chance to appear in the film, but ultimately missed the boat.
Three actors that fit the criteria of being important enough to appear in Avengers: Doomsday but not important enough to be guaranteed are Martin Freeman (Everett Ross), Wunmi Mosaku (Hunter B-15), and Idris Elba (Heimdall). All three of the actors made an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, which seemed to confirm none of them will appear in the upcoming MCU film.
“Apparently, not. Not everyone’s [in it].” Freeman answers when asked if he’d return, with Elba chiming in “My character died, Graham.”

The Cut Cast Of Avengers: Doomsday
Admittedly, it’s not shocking that Martin Freeman and Idris Elba won’t return for Avengers: Doomsday. While their characters have been important to past installments in the MCU, they’re far from vital. And with how big the cast of the film is, they’re certainly easy to leave on the cutting room floor.
Interestingly, Wunmi Mosaku was the only one who didn’t explicitly say that she wouldn’t return – although she didn’t correct the host when the others seemed to answer for the group. It’s certainly possible that Hunter B-15 appears in Avengers: Doomsday, given they’ve been the MCU’s main TVA representative in Loki and Deadpool and Wolverine. Though fans likely won’t know the truth until the film releases this winter.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters in December 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
