Thunderbolts is going for the gold! A new poster for the upcoming project is a secret parody to one of the most famous cereal boxes of all time.

Marvel has managed to truly surprise fans as promotion for Thunderbolts ramps up in preparation for its release. The film has managed to win over almost all of its detractors with its dark tone, high-octane action, and even a bit of comedy. The movie is leaning into the unexpected in more ways than one, trying to break away from the classic superhero formula as much as they can to prove why the film even exists.

This tactic extends to the newest poster released for the film. The image features all of the members of the MCU’s Thunderbolts: Yelena Belova, US Agent, Red Guardian, Bucky Barnes, Taskmaster, Ghost, and, of course, Bob. However, the layout of the poster may look familiar to some. This is because it’s meant to be a parody of Wheaties, a cereal famous for putting Olympic athletes on the front of their boxes to promote themselves as the “Breakfast of Champions.”

Thunderbolts Get Serious In International Poster

Of course, not every poster is leaning into the ridiculous nature of a team of almost-normal humans likely facing off against an all-powerful super soldier. A new international poster for Thunderbolts shows the team in the asterisk that has long been teased as key to the project’s plot. While it only focuses on the six main members, there is a cheeky cameo from Bob in the corner.

While Thunderbolts is still a few months away from release, it’s clear that Marvel is pulling out all the stops to prove that the project deserves its spot in the MCU’s lineup. Especially given how controversial some of the franchise’s recent projects have been, a film without a clear draw has a lot to prove in order to bring people out to the box office right before the summer rush.

Thunderbolts is currently set to hit theaters on May 2, 2025. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
