Despite Lewis Pullman’s “Bob,” aka the Sentry, being such a prominent part of the first Thunderbolts trailer, relatively little is actually known about him. The most fans know is that he’s been locked up, is wearing scrubs, and is bulletproof. It’s a description that can match dozens of heroes and villains in the MCU. Yet it seems the character may be more layered than expected.
A new rumor by The Cosmic Circus suggests that Sentry has already had a long history in the MCU. According to the site, Lewis Pullman’s character will have been active as a hero prior to the events of Thunderbolts. Yet unlike the comics, his appearance won’t be because of a mass mind erase. Rather, he’ll have always acted in secret, similar to the Winter Solider.
Sentry’s MCU Future After The Thunderbolts
The Cosmic Circus’ rumor didn’t just illuminate the Sentry’s past in the MCU. It also revealed its future. Continuing on from the description of the hero, the report confirms that Lewis Pullman will return in future projects after Thunderbolts. Though what those projects are, be they Avengers style crossovers or a solo project of his own, are yet to be seen.
Given there has been a rumor circulating for months that the MCU is planning a War of the Hulks film, and Sentry was a prominent part of the World War Hulk storyline, it wouldn’t be shocking if Lewis Pullman’s next appearance was in that proposed film. However, it’s also possible that the hero gets his own Disney Plus series, especially given the Thunderbolts writer and director have made acclaimed limited series like Beef.
