Tim Miller, director of Terminator: Dark Fate breaks his silence on the film’s underperformance at the box office as well as the mixed-to-negative critical reviews.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Tim Miller shared his candid thoughts on how the film has performed on the box office and still stands by the finished product:
“I’m sure we could write a book on why it didn’t work. I’m still not sure and I’m processing, but I’m very proud of the movie.”
Tim Miller also shared his own thoughts on the critical reception to Terminator: Dark Fate, citing specifically the baggage he felt some had with the franchise’s history with sequels being disappointing in some regards:
“The things they seemed to hate the most about the movie, were things I can’t control. I can’t control you didn’t like Genysis or you felt betrayed by Terminator 4. I can’t help that.”
Tim Miller’s Terminator: Dark Fate had a budget of around $185–196 million and has grossed $235.1 million thus far. It is expected to lose around $130 million for the studios involved.
