Titans star Alan Ritchson says he asked to reprise his role as Smallville‘s Aquaman in Crisis on Infinite Earths.

The fourth season of Smallville introduced Aquaman to the series, with future Titans star Alan Rictchson in the role of the classic DC Comics hero. As Smallville continued, Alan Ritchson would reprise his role as Aquaman for three additional episodes.

With Crisis on Infinite Earths just around the corner and Smallville stars Tom Welling and Erica Durance set to reprise their roles, Alan Ritchson was asked if he was ever called on to play Aquaman again for The CW’s crossover during an interview with Collider. While Alan Ritchson noted that he was asked to reprise his role as Smallville‘s Aquaman, his work scheduled on Titans prevented him from appearing as the King of Atlantis on Crisis on Infinite Earths:

“They did reach out to me. We tried to work it out. We were shooting and it was a very difficult schedule for us. We were shooting three episodes at once all the time. I would have had to leave the country and come back in to get a permit specifically for that show. I did want to participate. We tried to work it out. I’m happy that everybody is getting to come back. I’m especially happy for the fans. That’s why we do this. Those shows are like a bonanza for the fans. I wish I could have been a part of it.”

Crisis On Infinite Earths will span two quarters and consist of ArrowThe FlashSupergirlLegends of Tomorrow, and Batwoman. The Arrowverse crossover will launch with three episodes in December before concluding with two additional episodes in January.
