Robin actor Brenton Thwaites has revealed why he didn’t want the Boy Wonder uttering the name Batman in the new DC Universe series Titans.
The new series follows a grown-up Dick Grayson working as a Detective in Detroit, having left his nights with the Caped Crusader long in the past due to having fundamental differences with Batman’s methods and approach to crimefighting.
Speaking with MTV, Thwaites revealed he butted heads with the writers who wanted Robin to refer to Batman as Batman for fans. But Thwaites didn’t feel this was right. The actor explained how he felt his take on Dick Grayson would refer to the hero as Bruce Wayne, rather than Batman, mainly due to the fact that he grew up with him and isn’t a fan of his former mentor in the show.
