Is the Raw10 animated series still alive? Todd McFarlane reveals if his collaboration with Rooster Teeth and wiip is still alive following the studio’s revival.
It seems like there isn’t a pie that Todd McFarlane won’t stick at least one finger into. The legendary comic writer and creator of Spawn has dipped his toes into almost every industry, from toy making to feature films. So it wasn’t a shock when it was announced back in 2022 that McFarlane would be making his grand return to the world of animation with Raw10, a series based on McFarlane Toys’ original line of cybernetic animal figures.
Raw10 was announced as one series in a slate of projects developed by Todd McFarlane and McFarlane Films in conjunction with independent studio wiip. The internet-based production studio Rooster Teeth was also brought on to help with development, with gen: LOCK writer Dan Dominguez being tapped as the main creative lead for the show.
However, following Rooster Teeth being shuttered by Warner Bros. Discovery back in Spring of 2024, the fate of much of the original programming was left up in the air. And given neither Todd McFarlane or wiip have made public statements about Raw10 since 2022, many thought this meant the upcoming animated series had been left on the cutting room floor.
Is The Raw10 Animated Series Cancelled?
Yet with Rooster Teeth just recently announced to be returning under the management of founder Burnie Burns, there’s renewed hope from fans that the project may see the light of day. And luckily, it seems as though the series isn’t dead quite yet. In a recent chat with Heroic Hollywood during Megacon in Orlando, Todd McFarlane revealed that there’s still interest in all parties to bring the animated show to life, even if there’s no exact timeline of when it would come out.
“Yep. Yup. We’re talking about doing things like comic books for it too, but, yeah, the people that were at both ends that are still excited about it. But here’s the thing. Hollywood as a whole, is in a malaise. So, it’s not the projects that I’m working on, it’s all projects that lots of people are working on.”
Given how much the realm of adult animated shows have been popping off in recent years, with projects like Smiling Friends and Hazbin Hotel finding success on major networks after having been pitched by internet personalities, it wouldn’t be shocking to see Todd McFarlane and Rooster Teeth bring Raw10 to life now that the former is no longer under the control of Warner Bros. Discovery.
Rooster Teeth did not respond for a request for comment on the status of Raw10.
A Raw10 animated series is reportedly in the works by McFarlane Films, wiip, and Rooster Teeth. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding project and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
