Paramount has dropped a brand new trailer for Top Gun: Maverick, teasing Tom Cruise’s return as the iconic fighter pilot Pete Mitchell.
With the release date of Top Gun: Maverick slowly approaching following several COVID-19-related delays, Paramount has released another action-packed trailer for the movie. The sneak peek shows Cruise stepping back into the role of Pete “Maverick” Mitchell for the first time since 1986, training a new generation of pilots that includes the son of his late friend Nick “Goose” Bradshaw.
In addition to the trailer, Paramount has also revealed a fresh Top Gun: Maverick poster, which puts the spotlight on Tom Cruise. Check it out below.
Earlier this week, Top Gun: Maverick helmer Joseph Kosinski opened up about working with Val Kilmer, who reprises his role as Tom “Iceman” Kazansky, another fan-favorite character from the original movie.
“That was a huge, huge get — having Val come back to play Iceman. To get to work with an actor of that caliber, to see the chemistry, the camaraderie between him and Tom, and to have those two characters reunite in this film, was a really special moment, and one of my favorite parts of the film,” Kosinski told Total Film.
Directed by Joseph Kosinski from a script written by Ehren Kruger, Eric Warren Singer and Christopher McQuarrie, based on a story by Peter Craig and Justin Marks, Top Gun: Maverick stars Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman and Ed Harris.
Top Gun: Maverick will be released in theaters on May 27, 2022. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the upcoming movie and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
