Sony Pictures has released the first official trailer for Venom: The Last Stand, marking the return of Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock. Touted as the final chapter in the Venom series, The Last Stand promises to bring a conclusion to the Marvel saga, which has been a huge commercial success but hasn’t fared as well with critics.
The trailer gives fans of Tom Hardy’s incarnation of the character everything they could ask for. From bromances, Eddie Brock reuniting with Ms. Chang, and even a symbiote-infected horse, Venom: The Last Dance is shaping up to be a worthy finale to the franchise. The full trailer can be seen below:
The Death Of Eddie Brock
A new poster also came out alongside the first trailer for Venom: The Last Dance. The image shows off Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock bonded with the titular symbiote, along with the words “‘Til Death Do They Part.” This is a fun nod to the rom com-esque direction of the series, but also suggests that the trilogy may not end well for the dynamic duo.
Eddie Brock is no stranger to dying in the comics. Marvel actually killed him off a few years back, with the character being resurrected through his psionic connections to symbiotes. It’s possible that Tom Hardy’s version of the character goes through a similar fate in Venom: The Last Dance, with “Til Death Do They Part” actually meaning they’ll no longer be able to part after his death.
