Tom Hiddleston’s upcoming Loki series for Disney Plus may have already been renewed for a second season.
Tom Hiddleston is all set to reprise his role as the Marvel Cinematic Universe villain-turned-anti-hero Loki a the Disney Plus series, which will see his character in an alternate reality where he holds the Space Stone. The series will be an unprecedented first for the MCU as it’ll be one of the few shows that has the budget of a regular film in the franchise. Alongside The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Wandavison, Loki will usher in a brand new era of how we view and digest the MCU. Originally announced as a six-episode series, it turns out that the Hiddleston-led series may have already been renewed for a second season.
Speaking to Variety to discuss the final season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Phil Coulson actor Clark Gregg discussed how it’s funny how the original era of Marvel Television is coming to a close as the MCU launches its own episodic productions. In doing so, Gregg may have let it slip that the Tom Hiddleston series has already been renewed for a second season.
“I’d be lying if I didn’t say boy, that would really be interesting to start the experiment over. Doing ten episodes or 12 episodes the way Tom Hiddleston told me he was doing [on Loki] with that kind of budget and that Marvel Cinematic production team.”
