Loki is BACK, baby!

Loki is officially back! Tom Hiddleston makes his first public comments since he was confirmed to join the cast of the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday film.

The dreaded Day of the Sitting Chairs had a ton of mind-blowing announcements regarding who was joining the cast of Avengers: Doomsday. As such, most of the internet’s attention has been focused on the big ticket items: The X-Men making their return, the reveal of which Thunderbolts members would survive their film, and who didn’t make an appearance. However a smaller, yet potentially equally exciting reveal, was the confirmation that Tom Hiddleston would be back to play Loki once more on the silver screen.

This came as such a shock as it seemed as though Tom Hiddleston’s time in the MCU ended on a high note. The Loki series was a smash hit, with every tie the character had coming full circle for a truly beautiful moment. There were some fans that speculated the character would return in Avengers: Doomsday to play a small role, but most of that speculation went out the window when Doctor Doom took over the main villain role from Kang.

Tom Hiddleston Speaks Out On Loki Return

Tom Hiddleston broke his silence on this massive confirmation with, of all things, a TikTok video. Speaking to Max Belegde, Hiddleston reflected on his time as Loki in the MCU. And while he didn’t say much about what his role would be in Avengers: Doomsday, he did reveal that he’s excited to return (even if it was hard to keep such a massive secret until now).

“Very, very excited. It’s really remarkable, actually, that I can talk about it because mostly I’m in a position of knowing and not being able to say anything. It’s strange, you know you have to be disciplined about carrying this secret around. It’s been an extraordinary chapter in my life playing Loki, and it’s not over yet.”

Tom Hiddleston is one of the longest-serving actors in the MCU, with his tenure as Loki extending all the way back to the first Thor movie. It’s likely that Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars will be the final times that fans see him as the God of Mischief. And, while bittersweet, it’ll certainly be amazing to see him return one final time for such a monumental event in the franchise’s history.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters in May 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
