Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts really knows how to get fans excited, even with simple little vignettes from the set. Recently, the Russo Brothers shared an image of actor Josh Brolin rehearsing as Thanos, the antagonist that this entire Marvel Cinematic Universe has been setting up for in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War. Brolin was seen in the image in the motion capture suit, preparing for his menacing scenes as the mad titan.
Well, Watts had a something up his sleeves in response to the Russo Brothers’ image. Sure, Thanos can sit on a shiny throne and wield a gauntlet, but does he have the moves? Would he be willing to engage in a dance off with Star Lord or better yet, Spider-Man? Watts shared a video from the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming which features a CGI Spidey dancing to Daft Punk’s Doin’ it Right from the Grammy Award winning album, Random Access Memories.
Tom Holland is showcased in this video showing off his killer breakdance moves. Knowing that there will be a Homecoming dance in this film, it seems very likely that not only will we be seeing Holland showcase his physicality to the action sequences wearing the suit, but perhaps we will also see Peter Parker tear up the dance floor.
This video does not reveal anything about the film’s story, but it is just a purely fun clip of Holland showcasing his impressive choreography. It also helps that I am a massive Daft Punk fan, so that element also warms my heart. As a fun experiment, try muting the audio and start playing a song of your choice, and see if it fits well with this choreography. I bet it would.
Directed by Jon Watts and starring Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daley, Bokeem Woodbine, Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr., Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters on July 7, 2017.
