A brand new one-sheet for Sony’s upcoming Uncharted film teases Tom Holand and Mark Wahlberg’s iconic PlayStation characters.
As Tom Holland wraps up his current Spider-Man trilogy with Sony and Marvel, the young British star has another franchise to headline. After years of being stuck in development hell, Sony is finally releasing the long-awaited Uncharted film. Based on the best-selling PlayStation series of the same name, the video game franchise has become one of the most iconic offerings the console family has to offer. Essentially a playable Indiana Jones adventure, the Uncharted games are perfect for cinematic adaptation.
The first trailer for the film was released earlier this year, teasing Tom Holland’s transformation into the young and brash Nathan Drake. Joining him on his journey is Mark Wahlberg’s Sully, who serves as both a mentor/father figure and a best friend. Ironically, Wahlberg was in the running to play Nathan Drake a decade ago when the project was first in the works.
With the film set to debut in cinemas in February of 2022, Fandango has debuted a brand new poster for Uncharted, which puts the spotlight on Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg’s iconic PlayStation characters.
With the film’s release approaching closely, one can imagine Sony and PlayStation have a second trailer ready to debut any day now.
Based on the PlayStation video game series of the same name, the film is set to chronicle the first encounter between Tom Holland’s Nathan Drake and the fortune seeker and businessman Victor Sullivan. The film is reportedly influenced by a sequence in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.
Directed by Venom helmer Reuben Fleischer from a script written by Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Rafe Judkins, Uncharted is being produced by Sony PlayStation Productions, with Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan producing alongside Charles Roven, Avi Arad, Alex Gartner, and Ari Arad.
