The first set photos from Sony’s Uncharted movie reveal Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg in the video game adaptation.
After Uncharted star Tom Holland confirmed the film had begun shooting back in July, set photos from the Sony project show off our first look at the actor alongside co-star Mark Wahlberg, who’s playing Victor “Sully” Sullivan. Interestingly the photos don’t show Holland decked out in Nathan Drake’s typical outfit of a long sleeve shirt and holsters. The film has taken some time to get off the ground and although production is underway, some fans still aren’t sure if Wahlberg is the right pick for Sully. The voice actor behind Nathan Drake, Nolan North, also admitted that he doesn’t think the actor is a good choice.
But the new Uncharted set photos offer a better look at Mark Wahlberg and Tom Holland during a scene from the film, presumably at some kind of event since they’re sharply dressed in a pair of suits. With all the legendary artefacts included in the franchise, it wouldn’t be surprising if the pair are heading to some kind of auction or a museum opening. Based on the PlayStation video game series of the same name, the film is set to chronicle the first encounter between Tom Holland’s Nathan Drake and the fortune seeker and businessman Victor Sullivan. The film is reportedly influenced by a sequence in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.
Directed by Venom helmer Reuben Fletcher from a script written by Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Rafe Judkins, Uncharted is being produced by Sony PlayStation Productions, with Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan producing alongside Charles Roven, Avi Arad, Alex Gartner, and Ari Arad.
