An early box office projection for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home sees the film earning over $190 million in its opening weekend.

With COVID-19 plaguing movie theaters around the world, there hasn’t been a $100 million opening in some time. However, that may change soon with the release of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home later this month.

Ticket sales for Spider-Man: No Way Home crashed websites earlier this week and it resulted in the best numbers since Avengers: Endgame. Now, Box Office Pro’s early tracking sees Tom Holland’s highly-anticipated Spider-Man sequel earning $190 million to $250 million in its domestic opening weekend.

Avengers: Endgame still holds the record for the highest opening weekend with $357 million, which is followed by Infinity War‘s $257 million, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘ $247 million. The biggest opening for a Spider-Man film belongs to Tobey Maguire’s third entry with $151 million.

Here is the synopsis for Spider-Man: No Way Home:

For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is umasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.
