Tom Holland debunked the rumor that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will cameo in Spider-Man 3.

The internet has been ablaze with rumors and reports for quite some time that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are returning to play their respective Spider-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man 3. But in a recent interview on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Tom Holland denied the rumors that he’ll star alongside his Web-Slinging predecessors in the upcoming sequel.

Tom Holland, Jacob Batalon and Zendaya all teased fans on Instagram with three fake titles for Spider-Man 3 before the interview, with Phone Home, Home Wrecker and Home Slice all thrown out as supposed titles which sent social media into a meltdown. But when it came to the Jimmy Fallon interview, Holland explicitly denied the Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reports, even though Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus and Jamie Foxx’s Electro are both set to return. The star says they’re not in the script and it would be a “miracle” if they’d kept that detail from them, before also confirming that his brother Harry has a role in the film. Maybe Marvel’s publicists have finally taught Holland how to lie convincingly to the press… Take a look at the Spider-Man 3 interview below.

What do you think the real title for Spider-Man 3 will be? Do you still think Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will be in the film alongside Tom Holland? Sound-off in the comments below!
