Tom King took to social media to tease work on the script for Ava DuVernay’s upcoming New Gods film.
A New Gods film has been in development over at Warner Bros. since 2018. Ava DuVernay is currently attached to direct the upcoming project. It was also revealed last year that DC Comics writer Tom King will be joining DuVernay to pen the script. The news of King joining New Gods excited many due to his recent work on Batman and his Mister Miracle run.
Not many details are known about the upcoming film other than Darkseid and the Female Furies being the villains in New Gods. Darkseid was originally going to appear in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, but it now looks like New Gods will feature the live-action debut for the iconic DC villain. There’s also not a timeline on when New Gods will start filming, especially with the coronavirus pandemic putting so many projects on hold. However, Tom King did tease on Twitter that work on the script is still being done with an iconic line from his Mister Miracle run:
Darkseid is.
