Batman comic writer Tom King posted an official response to joining Ava DuVernay’s New Gods film as a co-writer.
Yesterday, fans learned comic book writer Tom King was co-writing the script for New Gods with director Ava DuVernay following his run of Batman titles. Now, Tom King has responded to news of him co-writing the Ava DuVernay film by posting the following quote from prologue at the beginning of the first issue of New Gods: “The Came of a time when the Old Gods Died…”

Directed by Ava DuVernay, Warner Bros. and DC’s New Gods film will be based on characters created and designed by Jack Kirby. Details on the film are currently unknown, though comic book incarnations of the New Gods have included characters such as Granny Goodness, Desaad, Godfrey, and the powerful villain Darkseid.
New Gods is one of the many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC. These projects include The Batman, The Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Black Adam, Cyborg, Supergirl, and Nightwing.
