New ‘Godzilla: King Of The Monsters’ Trailer Debuts Next Week

Kong Fast Furious 9 Rodan Mothra Godzilla King of the Monsters Trailer

In a recent report, the second trailer for the upcoming kaiju film, Godzilla: King of Monsters, is set to debut next week.

The film is set to be the third in Warner Bros. kaiju universe with the first two being Godzilla (2014) and Kong: Skull Island. Both films were well reviewed and made a decent amount of money at the box office and both monsters are set clash in the upcoming Godzilla vs. Kong which is set to for a 2020 release date. But first we get to see the King of Monsters battle against two of his longtime allies and his arch nemesis Mothra, Rodan and King Ghidorah.

The first trailer for the film debuted at San Diego Comic Con earlier this year and teased an dark look, similar to the 2014 film. The actual tone of the trailer, however, seemed to indicate a more whimsical element to it, hinting that the film makers just might remember that this franchise’s biggest audience has always been kids. Hopefully the next trailer will show that the film is sticking with this idea.

Directed by Michael Dougherty, Godzilla: King of the Monsters stars Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Sally Hawkins, Charles Dance, Thomas Middleditch, O’Shea Jackson Jr., with Ken Watanabe and Ziyi Zhang.

Following the global success of “Godzilla” and “Kong: Skull Island” comes the next chapter in Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ cinematic MonsterVerse, an epic action adventure that pits Godzilla against some of the most popular monsters in pop culture history. The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters will be released in theaters on May 31, 2019.
