‘Twisters’ Cast Celebrates David Corenswet’s Superman Casting In Newly-Released Video

The Twisters cast shows its support to David Corenswet!

Everyone loves David Corenswet as Superman! A newly-released video reveals his Twisters co-stars celebrating his casting in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe.

David Corenswet has skyrocketed in popularity since being cast as the DC Universe’s first hero: Superman. Yet, while the internet was erupting in celebration, the actor was busy playing a supporting role in Twisters. However, the project’s cast wasn’t going to let him get away without fanfare, creating a heartwarming video celebrating the news during production.

While David Corenswet didn’t have the biggest role in Twisters, he certainly stole the hearts of fans whenever he was on screen, despite his “villainous” role. It’s clear he also stole the hearts of the cast, as it’s clear the group is genuinely excited for their co-star landing the role of Superman in the DC Universe. Given how much destruction took place in the film, it likely would’ve been useful to the Stormchasers if he donned the spandex sometime during production!

Twisters Director Celebrates David Corenswet As Superman

The cast wasn’t the only ones celebrating David Corenswet landing the role of Superman. During the press tour to promote Twisters, the film’s director, Lee Isaac Chung, spoke about Corenswet landing the DC Universe role, revealing that he had been doing auditions throughout production. However, once he saw a certain smile, he knew that the actor had landed the coveted part of the Man of Steel.

“He was doing some auditions for Superman while we were filming,” Chung told The Hollywood Reporter. “And David is the type of actor who keeps a little bit of his character within himself while he’s working through the day.”

“He’s not full-out method, but he just has a bit of that [character’s] persona to him. And when he came back from auditions in L.A., he came back as Superman. I saw Clark Kent in the way that he smiled at me and in the way he talked to me, and I realized, ‘Oh, he brought that audition back.'”

Seeing such love from the Twisters cast for David Corenswet is certain to bring a smile to even the most dour of DC Universe fans. Nobody could have known the direction that the actor’s career would take at the start of production. Now that he’s Superman, it’s good to see actors building him up instead of trying to tear him down.
