‘Venom 2’: Leaked Photo Of Woody Harrelson’s Carnage Confirmed Fake

The leaked photo from Venom 2 showing off Woody Harrelson’s Carnage has been confirmed to be a fake.

One of the biggest smash-hits from 2018 was Tom Hardy’s Venom, which saw the British actor taking on the iconic role of Eddie Brock for the first time. The film was Sony’s first Spider-Man-centric film that didn’t feature the famed web slinger and against all odds, it became a commercial success and a fan favorite. The film’s post-credits scene even teased Woody Harrelson taking on the role of the villain Carnage for the sequel.

With Woody Harrelson’s Venom 2 still on track to hit theatres this year despite the coronavirus pandemic, fans have been ridiculously excited to see Carnage’s cinematic debut. Their excitement was so evocative that some fans thought that a photo of Canrage making the rounds online was actually from the upcoming Venom 2. It turns out that the photo that supposedly shows Harrelson as Carnage is actually a fake, with MCU Cosmic confirming that it’s from a Spider-Man 4 fan trailer from 2016.

That disappointment must hit quite close to home for Venom fans, especially because we haven’t seen a look at Harrelson’s Carnage. At the end of the first film, fans got to see Harrelson’s Cletus Kasady, who teased his Carnage alter-ego. Other than the red villain being the villain for the sequel, details are quite slim for the Woody Harrelson film.
