Venom concept artist David Masson has revealed an early design of Tom Hardy’s titular anti-hero for the 2018 superhero film.
Tom Hardy’s 2018 film Venom was a movie that threw everyone off. Critics did not care for it and currently only has a 30% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite this, the film still managed to earn well over $800M worldwide on a budget that has been reported to have been around $100M. A sequel was quickly put into the works with Tom Hardy returning and Lord of the Rings and Black Panther star Andy Serkis directing.
One of the many things that people commented on was the Venom symbiote itself and how odd it looked. Once upon a time, however, the character had a design in the Tom Hardy film that looked a little bit more grounded. In a recent post, Venom concept artist David Masson shared an earlier design for the titular character, showing a design that is similar but different from its film counterpart.
