Tony Todd recently made his Marvel debut as Venom in Spider-Man 2. Following the game’s release, Eddie Brock actor Tom Hardy shared his thoughts on the new actor.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been a triumph in almost every way. One of its most celebrated aspects is how it handled the Venom symbiote, with Tony Todd bringing the role to life in the game. Tom Hardy, who played Eddie Brock in the Venom films, took to social media to celebrate the actor’s role, calling him a “legend”:
Tom Hardy and Tony Todd aren’t just bonded by their shared symbiote, with both actors working together on the set of Minotaur in 2006. With Todd killing the role in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and the Venom movie series getting its third installment soon, it truly seems as though fans live in a golden time for the symbiote.
What to expect from the next Venom movie
Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal and Hutch Parker are producing Venom 3. The four were also involved with the first two Venom movies, which were directed by Ruben Fleischer and Andy Serkis. Kelly Marcel is making her directorial debut with the third installment.
Venom and its follow-up Venom: Let There Be Carnage earned a combined $1.36 billion at the worldwide box office. Following their release, Tom Hardy reprised his role as the anti-hero for the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home, setting up the long-awaited arrival of the Symbiote suit for Tom Holland’s Peter Parker.
