Daredevil: Born Again is darker than fans thought! Vincent D’Onofrio teased that the upcoming Disney Plus series will take the violence even further than the original Netflix show.

Netflix’s Daredevil was often defined by its brutality. This left many fans worried that Disney Plus wouldn’t allow Daredevil: Born Again to go as far as fans may have wanted. However, when asked about this, Kingpin actor Vincent D’Onofrio assured fans that this new project will end up being much more violent than the original ever was.

“There are some things in this show that we go much further with than we did on the original show,” D’Onofrio told Rotten Tomatoes in a recent talk. “There’s one thing in particular, that my character does, that I can’t believe made it into the cut.”

That’s big talk coming from an actor whose character used a car door to turn a man’s head into toothpaste. It’ll be interesting to see what scene Vincent D’Onofrio is referring to when Daredevil: Born Again actually drops on Disney Plus. However, it seems every member of the cast is confident that the project will bring honor to the legacy of the Netflix show.

Vincent D’Onofrio Was Shocked By Daredevil Revival

Yet it seems for how much Vincent D’Onofrio loves Daredevil: Born Again, he wasn’t sure that it would ever happen. Apparently, he and Charlie Cox would occasionally call and speak about the possibility of Marvel reviving the Netflix Daredevil series. However, until they got the call, they were convinced they were delusional that the characters would ever come back.

“I’d moved on and occasionally Vincent and I would chat and he would say things like, ‘Oh, they’re going to call. I think they’re going to us, but they’re going to call us,'” Charlie Cox told People magazine. “And I would get off the phone and be like, the guy’s delusional! He’s got to let it go. It’s going to be 10 years and he’s still going. It’s over. It’s definitely over.”

“It became really pathetic in Charlie’s eyes,” D’Onofrio admitted before Cox added, “He was right. I didn’t see it. For me, it was shocking. Shocking. It was a great show and been silly for love.”

It seems everyone was in agreement that, even though it was a long shot, it’s worth it to try to revive such an iconic series as Netflix’s Daredevil. It’s certain, even if just through the nature of Disney Plus, that Daredevil: Born Again is going to be different. But with so much confidence from both Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, it’s likely to be something extraordinarily special.
