Wonder Woman may be next on the docket for the DC Universe! The latest report on Warner Bros. Discovery reveals the studios’ plan after Superman.
While people expected Superman to be a success, it seemed to blow even the highest expectations out of the water- both critically and at the box office. And with Warner Bros. Discovery finally having another hit on their hands, fans have begun to wonder what the company’s next move is for their DC Universe, especially when major characters like The Flash, Batman and Wonder Woman have seemingly been sidelined.
The latest report from Variety suggests that at least some of those big names may be coming sooner than fans expected. The outlet reveals that the success of Superman has led to Warner Bros. Discovery fast-tracking a Wonder Woman project for the new DC Universe. While it’s doubtful that the project will be rushed, it’s now very possible for it to hit silver screens before 2030.
Wonder Woman’s Future In The DC Universe
It’s clear that, even before the success of Superman, Wonder Woman was a top priority in the DC Universe. A spin-off series about Themyscira titled Paradise Lost was one of the first projects greenlit for the franchise. And if the reboot truly is to be fast-tracked, it’s likely Warner Bros. Discovery would want that to hit HBO Max sometime in 2027.
It’s also likely that Superman himself would be making an appearance in a Wonder Woman project. David Corenswet has admitted his interest in bringing a love triangle with the two characters into the DC Universe. While their relationship isn’t certain, it’s very possible that James Gunn and the creative team behind the reboot take his ideas into consideration.
