A brand new look at Superman is here!

David Corenswet Superman James Gunn DC Universe

Warner Bros. has officially released the five-minute Superman sneak peek that was first shown to exhibitors at CinemaCon 2024. The extended footage, which highlights James Gunn’s fresh take on the Man of Steel, offers a deeper look at David Corenswet’s version of Clark Kent and the tone of the DC Universe reboot.

The Superman sneak peek had previously leaked online in low quality shortly after its CinemaCon debut, sparking heavy buzz across social media platforms like Twitter and Reddit. Now, Warner Bros. has published the sneak peek in full HD, giving fans an official look at several key characters and settings, including Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan), Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult), and the Daily Planet newsroom.

The first Superman trailer dominated online conversations as James Gunn and Peter Safran prepare to launch the DC Universe on the big screen. Following the release of the animated series Creature Commandos on Max, Superman is poised to set the tone for the reimagined cinematic universe in his first cinematic solo outing since 2013’s Man of Steel.

What to expect from James Gunn’s Superman movie

Corenswet steps into the role of Superman, taking over from Henry Cavill, who portrayed the character in Zack Snyder’s DC Extended Universe. Rachel Brosnahan joins him as Lois Lane, alongside a star-studded cast that includes Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor and Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific. DC Studios co-head James Gunn, known for his distinct blend of humor and emotion in superhero projects like Guardians of the Galaxy and The Suicide Squad, writes and directs the film.

Superman is a much-anticipated project, given that Clark Kent has been an integral part of the DC Universe for over 80 years, with various iterations and adaptations across different media. The movie promises to explore the character’s origins and his struggles to balance his dual identities as Clark and Superman while fighting off villains and saving the world.

Superman is currently scheduled to hit theaters on July 11, 2025. Stay tuned for more updates as the DC Universe continues to unfold.
