According to Deadline, Warner Bros. film chairman Toby Emmerich is set to receive a Milestone award at the 30th annual PGA Awards.
The man who runs Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema will be receiving the guild’s most prestigious award at the January 19th PGA Awards ceremony at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. Emmerich, who serves as chairman of Warner Bros. Pictures Group, was part of the solid year in 2017 the studio had that saw releases of such hit films as Wonder Woman, It, and Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk. This year was no different as Warner Bros. churned out some of 2018’s best, including the likes of The Nun, Crazy Rich Asians and A Star is Born.
The PGA’s Milestone Award recognizes an individual or team that has made historic contributions to the entertainment industry. And based on what we have seen from Emmerich and company the last two years, they definitely deserve to receive such an accolade. Now that Emmerich has achieved this milestone, it will be interesting to see what future titles Warner Bros. will bring us to continue this trend of success.
