Kristen Wiig May Play This Version Of Cheetah In Wonder Woman 2

According to a recent rumor, we might be seeing Kristen Wiig suit up as the Dr. Barbara Ann Minerva version of the Cheetah in Wonder Woman 2.

While nothing is confirmed, it seems as though Wiig is to be taking up the mantle of the Cheetah as Minerva according to an anonymous source. This rumor is further backed up by the fact that ThatHashtagShow used Minerva’s name as they broke the news and the fact that Minerva is the most well-known version of Cheetah.

In the comics, Dr. Minerva was a British archeologist who would go to any length to secure an ancient artifact. One day while attempting to find the lost city of the Urzkartagan tribe in Africa, her life takes a turn. However, that is the baseline for the character, as continuities diverge from there. While newer versions of the character claim she was an old friend of Diana’s (Gal Gadot) before being captured by the plant god Urzkartaga, older versions claimed she was just a power-hungry old woman who demanded the power of a Cheetah after stumbling upon a ritual. While there is no telling which version of this character Wiig will go with, this information could also give us some insight on Pedro Pascal’s mystery role.

Depending on the version of Minerva they go with, Pascal could be playing two very different characters. If they choose the version of her being Diana’s close friend before being abducted, we could very well see him become Andres Cadulo, a fanatical follower of Urzkartaga who kidnapped Minerva in the first place to turn her into Cheetah, along with kidnapping dozens of other girls. However, if we go with the older version, we may be seeing him play Dr. Tom Leavens, the only surviving member of Minerva’s expedition and close friend to the woman. In the end, however, this is all speculation.

Which version of Minerva would you like to see Wiig play? Who do you want to see Pascal play? Are you excited for Wonder Woman 2? Leave all your answers down below!
