Daredevil star Wilson Bethel suits up as Reverse-Flash for the DCEU in this new image that imagines the iconic villain for Ezra Miller’s standalone The Flash movie.
DC’s long-awaited standalone film featuring Ezra Miller’s The Flash could be picking up speed soon with IT director Andy Muschietti helming the project. While a deal has yet to close, Warner Bros. could be continuing the trend of bringing over another horror director to the DCEU following the success of James Wan’s Aquaman, and David F. Sandberg’s Shazam! movie. Recent reports have suggested Andy Muschietti is in talks to take on the project starring Ezra Miller. Although Andy Muschietti has yet to confirm his involvement, the director has said he would prefer to take a short break after he concludes the IT franchise with IT: Chapter Two later in September.
Bumblebee and Birds of Prey writer Christina Hodson is reportedly being eyed to write the script. Plot details remain under wraps including which villain the film could feature, but that’s not enough to stop fans from imagining which iconic villain from The Flash’s rogues gallery could make their DCEU debut. A new image from spdrmnkyxxiii imagines Daredevil star Wilson Bethel suited up as Reverse-Flash for the film. Wilson Bethel himself is no stranger to comic book villains, having already taken on the role of Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter aka Bullseye in Marvel’s Daredevil series on Netflix. With Daredevil canceled, it’s possible we could see Wilson Bethel jump ship to Warner Bros. and take on the role of Reverse-Flash in the DCEU.

Creative differences have long plagued The Flash movie starring Ezra Miller. While the project finally seemed to be gaining some momentum with John Frances Daily and Jonathan Goldstein on board, Ezra Miller, who was initially cast as the character in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, began clashing with the directing duo who favored a lighter take rather than the darker vision Ezra Miller had for the character. After months of compromising with each other, John Frances Daily and Jonathan Goldstein opted to bow out entirely.
DC Comics writer Grant Morrison and Ezra Miller himself were writing the most recent draft of the script, but the studio will not be going forward with their take on the project. However, Ezra Miller remains attached to star in the film. The studio is hoping to be in prep mode by January 2020.
Ezra Miller was last seen as The Flash in Justice League. Here’s the official synopsis for the film:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Directed by Zack Snyder, with post-production duties handled by Joss Whedon, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
Justice League is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on Ezra Miller, Wilson Bethel and the future of the DCEU as we learn it.
