A new TV spot for Wonder Woman 1984 and the DC FanDome event highlights Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor’s confusion at 1980s fashion.

Wonder Woman 1984 has been the subject of many questions as the plot of the upcoming film is not entirely clear. One such mystery is the return of Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor for the upcoming Gal Gadot film. The last we saw of Steve Trevor he was flying off in a plane that was carrying a payload of gas that would have devastated the Allied powers, apparently dying after blowing it up. But for reasons that are still unknown, Steve Trevor is now in the 1980s and has not aged a day.

The trailers for the upcoming film hint at a reversal of roles for the characters. In the first Wonder Woman film, Steve Trevor had to introduce Wonder Woman into the world and all of its norms. In Wonder Woman 1984 it seems that Gal Gadot’s titular character will be doing this for him. The film’s latest TV spot that also advertises the upcoming DC FanDome event highlights Steve Trevor’s confusion at 1980s fashion which mainly includes parachute pants.
