The X-Men may be coming to the MCU sooner than fans think! A rumor reveals when the highly-anticipated reboot will start filming.
Aside from their upcoming Avengers duology to finish off the Multiverse Saga, the X-Men reboot is the biggest project in the MCU’s confirmed future. That being said, there isn’t much that’s publicly known about the film. Even the rumor mill hasn’t been able to share much insight, with most reports being shot-in-the-dark casting “announcements”.
This is doubly odd as Jake Schreier, director of Thunderbolts* and Beef, was confirmed to direct the reboot last year. Movies as big as the X-Men certainly take a while to get made. However, given the MCU prides itself on quick-turnarounds that make even the fastest in the industry blush, it’s a bit shocking that fans still have no idea when the project is going to start filming.
When Are They Filming The X-Men Reboot?
A new rumor seems to give some bit of relief to anxious fans, even if it isn’t too specific. Scooper DanielRPK reveals that Marvel is aiming to begin production the X-Men reboot after Avengers: Secret Wars wraps filming. This likely means that the MCU’s most anticipated project will start filming either late 2026 or early 2027.
This rumor is interesting as, if it’s true, pre-production on the X-Men reboot should be starting relatively soon. While MCU projects aren’t exactly bastions of transparency in this sense, the trades do often get their hands on major casting announcements. And if filming is truly set to start next winter, Marvel would likely start finding their stars around Spring of this year.
