Marvel fans have taken to social media to poke fun at New Mutants on the day the X-Men film was supposed to be released in theaters.

20th Century Fox’s New Mutants, a darker and relatively more horror-centric entry in the X-Men film series, was originally scheduled to be released in theaters on April 13, 2018, before being delayed until February 22, 2019. A third release date for New Mutants was later scheduled for today, August 2, 2019, before Disney pushed back the date to April 3rd of next year following its acquisition of Fox’s entertainment assets.

Now, X-Men fans have taken to social media to have some fun at the expense of New Mutants, joking about how they can’t wait to watch the film at some point today. In fact, some fans have still received notifications from various sources that mistakenly list New Mutants as a new release today.
