It’s not an exaggeration to say that the Mutant Saga is one of the most anticipated aspects about the current MCU. Not only will it be the long-awaited return of the X-Men to the silver screen, but it’ll also serve as a potential “soft revitalization” of a franchise that has been struggling over the last few years with fans and critics alike.
Though despite the Mutant Saga starting in just a few years, fans have almost no information about what the MCU has in store for the X-Men. The scooper reveals that both Mr. Sinister and Apocalypse, two of the X-Men’s most iconic villains, will be making their debut in the next phase of the MCU. This marks the second live-action appearance of Apocalypse, and the first for the beloved Mr. Sinister.
It’s hard to speculate what storylines the two villains will play roles in during the course of the Mutant Saga, if only because of just how many X-Men comics exist for the MCU to adapt. Though, if this rumor is true, it certainly seems the franchise is pulling out all of the stops to make sure that this phase of the MCU is one for the ages.
