Is Xochitl Gomez coming back as America Chavez? The actress seemed to play coy about making a return in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday crossover!
Fans know where are still plenty of more characters to be announced to return in Avengers: Doomsday. Multiple sure picks like Spider-Man, Deadpool, and Wolverine are still seemingly absent. However, that doesn’t mean that EVERY character is a sure bet. And one of those characters right on the fringe is America Chavez, playing by Xochitl Gomez.
While the character is a fan-favorite, and has powers that are key gates through the multiverse, Xochitl Gomez’ debut outing as the character was a critical mess (despite making nearly a billion at the box office). This has left many wondering if America Chavez will ever return, let alone in a project as high-profile as Avengers: Doomsday.
Is America Chavez In Avengers: Doomsday?
Xochitl Gomez recently attended the premiere of Nobody 2, where Entertainment Tonight had a chance to speak with her about her future as America Chavez. While the outlet front-loaded her being in Avengers: Doomsday, the actress swerved the question, managing to play coy about whether or not she actually will return in the project.
“I mean, I’m excited to see her future. I think most importantly…what do you guys want to see? What are you hoping for America’s future? I would love to see that. Hopefully, we’ll cook up something with what y’all put out there. Manifest it!”
At the current state of things, it’s more likely than not that America Chavez does appear in Avengers: Doomsday. For as controversial as it was, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was one of Marvel’s biggest hits during the Multiverse Saga. And with a second round of chairs likely just around the corner, it wouldn’t be shocking to see Xochitl Gomez’ name on one of them.
