Yennefer Learns Who Claimed Credit For Battle Of Sodden Victory In A New Clip From ‘The Witcher’

Someone stole credit for her work!

Henry Cavill Netflix The Witcher Anya Chalotra Yennefer

Yennefer learns who claimed credit for the victory at the Battle of Sodden in a new clip for the second season of the Netflix series, The Witcher.

The first season of The Witcher ended with a lot of story threads left hanging. At the end of the season, the forces of the Nilfgard empire attempted to invade the Northern Kingdoms but were stopped at the Battle of Sodden by a collection of sorceresses and their allies. Nilfgard nearly won the battle until, at the last moment, Yennefer unleashed a powerful spell that incinerated most of the empire’s forces. It was, however, left ambiguous as to whether or not she survived.

The first trailer for The Witcher‘s second season did eventually reveal Yennefer to be alive and captured by the empire. However, she will not remain in their captivity for good. A recently released clip shows Yennefer speaking to her mentor, Tissaia. In the clip, it shows that a new character named Vilgefortz had taken credit for the victory and that, for the time, that needed to remain the case:

Here is the official synopsis for Season 2 of The Witcher:

Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.

Henry Cavill’s The Witcher returns for its second season on December 17th. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the upcoming season on Netflix and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
