Shazam! star Zachary Levi would love to team up with Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman and Jason Momoa’s Aquaman in a future Justice League film.
Shazam! is clearly connected to the greater DCEU, however, the state of the universe on the big screen appears to be uncertain. Ben Affleck is no longer Batman and Henry Cavill’s days as Superman appear to be over. Gal Gadot and Jason Momoa are the only members of Justice League who appear to be locked in for future films due to their box office success. Going forward, it also doesn’t seem like Warner Bros. will be connecting their universe as much, opting to focus on putting out good standalone films.
Before the studio’s reshift in focus, Shazam!‘s post-credits scene did feature a jab at Jason Momoa’s Aquaman. Zachary Levi recently visited Germany’s CCXP Cologne convention where he addressed whether Jason Momoa’s Aquaman would want to appear in a Shazam! sequel:
“I mean after making that joke about him, I’m sure he’s pretty salty about it and doesn’t want to be in the next movie.”
Zachary Levi went on to express his desire to be in a Justice League film:
“No, I don’t know, I honestly don’t know. I would love that. Look, I love a good team movie, right? We all love a good team movie, that’s why the Avengers did a zillion dollars at the box office. If we get to make another Justice League, and Shazam gets to be in the Justice League, I would lose my mind. I think it would be so much fun. And in lieu of that, if DC and Warner Brothers and New Line find it cool to either have other DC heroes in my movies or I get to go and make cameos in their movies, I’d love to do that, too. I just love that I get to be an actor and I get to wear spandex and a cape and pretend to fly. Like, it’s the stupidest job ever, it’s amazing. I can’t recommend it enough.”
Zachary Levi admitted that he has no idea what the plans are, but said a highlight of a potential crossover would be to work with Gal Gadot:
“Whatever they decide to do, I’ll be very happy to do that. Particularly if Gal Gadot is involved…because she’s talented! It has nothing to do with how she looks. She’s a talented girl.”
The underwhelming box office of Justice League has halted development for a sequel. However, if a sequel were to happen, it is safe to assume Gal Gadot and Jason Momoa would appear.

Here’s the official synopsis for Zachary Levi’s Shazam!:
We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).
Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans and Djimon Hounsou.
Shazam! is now available on Digital HD and hits store shelves for Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD release on July 16.
