There is a new look at Zachary Levi as Shazam! on a new cover for Total Film and it is as amazing as you thought it would be.
After waiting months for more reveals for Shazam!, it seems that as we get closer to the film’s release date, more material is being released giving fans a better look at the superhero. This new look at the hero not only spotlights the personality of the character, but also features interesting marketing strategy that may have fans wanting more. In this new coverm Zachary Levi is in costume as Shazam and is holding what seems to be The New 52’s Shazam! Volume 1.
This new cover seems to be breaking the fourth wall by having Zachary Levi read the book his character is based on. It’s an interesting form of marketing that seems to fit his character perfectly. As we have seen in the trailers, Asher Angel’s Billy Batson and Jack Dylan Grazer’s Freddy Freeman team up so that Shazam can figure out how to be a superhero. What better way to be a superhero than to go to the source material?
The character already seems to be capturing this persona and fans might be in for something different in the DC Extended Universe. Perhaps some aspects of Shazam! Volume 1 may be introduced in the film. DC could be slowly introducing Shazam’s big bad Black Adam, who’s set to be played by Dwayne Johnson.

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting one word – SHAZAM! – this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart – inside a ripped, godlike body – Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).
Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! stars Asher Angel, Zachary Levi, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Faithe Herman, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans and Djimon Hounsou.
Shazam! will hit theaters on April 5, 2019.
