On the heels of Zack Snyder giving his opinion on Ben Affleck officially hanging up the cowl as Batman, he also revealed an image from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice that showcases Affleck’s Bruce Wayne during the Knightmare sequence.
Taking to Vero in the early hours of the morning, Zack Snyder, in addition to giving his thoughts on Ben Affleck stepping down, all while referencing the “Beautiful Lie” track from the soundtrack to Dawn of Justice, shared a new image of Affleck’s Batman. The photo in question takes place in the Knightmare scene, but what looks to be before Superman’s arrival. The photo, which Snyder posted on Vero today, can be seen in the image below.
Indeed, the stepping down of Ben Affleck from the role of Batman has hit many in the fandom hard, given the performance Affleck, through Snyder’s direction, brought to the role in Batman v Superman. Not so much Justice League in its current form. While it’s unfortunate that we won’t get to see the original five movie arc that Snyder envisioned, coupled with there being no chance of a Ben Affleck-directed Batman film, there is always Dawn of Justice to hold onto for fans who will miss what Zack Snyder and Ben Affleck brought to an older Bruce.
With that said, what do you think of this particular Knightmare image that Zack Snyder shared? Would you still want to see more of the Knightmare predictions paid off in future DC Extended Universe films? In addition, what are your thoughts on Zack Snyder commenting on Ben Affleck officially stepping down from the Batman role? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is available now on Digital HD, 4K, Blu-Ray, and DVD.
