Did fans almost have the perfect Green Lantern? Zack Snyder recently posted a new BTS photo of Wayne T. Carr as John Stewart in the Snydercut.
There’s been a lot of discourse these past few weeks about what makes a good Green Lantern adaptation, largely stemming from controversial choices made when it comes to Lanterns. This has led many to look back at the last attempt to bring the galactic heroes to the silver screen, that being Wayne T. Carr’s John Stewart in Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut.
While Wayne T. Carr was barely more than a blink in the Snydercut, fans have still praised his gravitas as an actor, as well as the design Zack Snyder ultimately went with for the Green Lantern suit. It’s a cameo that barely made its way into the final cut, yet it has been one of the longest-lasting discussion points when it comes to the film.
Wayne T. Carr Stuns As Green Lantern
Due to how last second the addition of Green Lantern was into the Snyder Cut, Zack Snyder hasn’t shared too much when it comes to photos of Wayne T. Carr as John Stewart. However, just recently, the director posted a BTS photo of him and Carr filming his scene, teasing that the might of the Lanterns lives on.
“@waynetcarr as John Stewart. A hero we planned to bring into the Justice League story. Some paths remain unseen… but the green glow is still out there.”

With Aaron Pierre officially taking on the role of John Stewart in Lanterns, it’s basically impossible for Wayne T. Carr to make a return as the Green Lantern in a future project. Yet, as with many things Zack Snyder has done, the small but mighty swing continues to have ripple effects across the fandom, and likely will until a “definitive” Green Lantern hits the silver screen.
