New photos of a deleted scene from Zack Snyder’s Justice League involving the iconic DC Comics villain Darkseid have surfaced online.
It’s been two years since Zack Snyder’s Justice League opened in theaters and received a middling response from fans and critics alike. The film’s pre-production was ravaged by reshoots by Joss Whedon after Zack Snyder stepped down from the project due to personal reasons. When Justice League was finally released, fans were disappointed to find what was expected to be Zack Snyder’s magnum opus as another run-of-the-mill superhero film. Since then, the outcry for Zack Snyder’s proposed cut, dubbed ‘The Snyder Cut’, has only grown larger.
Since the releaese of Justice League, Zack Snyder has been slowly revealing more information about the movie, leaving many wondering what could have been. Now, we’re aware of a deleted scene involving Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman discovering a mural that showcases the ancient battle of the Amazons and Darkseid. Darkseid was the much teased-about villain for Justice League but we never truly got to see him in action. Instead, Darkseid’s uncle Steppenwolf was the primary villian of Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Unfortunately, we don’t have the full scene but the photos give us a fantastic look and feel of the ethereal vibe Zack Snyder was going for in his Justice League cut.
You can check the photos from Zack Snyder’s Justice League scene teasing Darkseid below.
In the images, we get a beautiful rendition of the battle painted just like the artifacts of yesteryear. One can only imagine how powerful this scene must have been for Diana to witness second-hand the destruction coming forth from Darkseid. Unfortunately, these photos don’t come with context as to when this scene would have happened in the final product we got. We also don’t have a solid look at Darkseid himself. However, it is easy to imagine Diana viewing the mural and then the scene immediately segueing into the battle with Darkseid. Perhaps one day we will see it in all its glory.
